Hamburg, July 2008 – Rollei is extending its Slim series and introduces the high-resolution Rollei XS-10, which is capable of taking 10 megapixel photos. The camera combines numerous functions In an aluminium case that is both stylish and compact. With a depth of only 18.7 mm, the slim camera fits easily in every handbag. The Rollei XS-10 is equipped with a second lithium-ion battery and external recharging cradle. The Rollei XS-8, which has been available in shops since April, has received an attractive upgrade and now comes with a second lithium-ion battery and external recharging cradle.
 
The Rollei XS cameras stylishly combine high-quality technology with elegant design. The new Rollei XS-10, with its 10 megapixel resolution, bright 3-inch wide screen TFT display and the 3x optical Rollei Apogon zoom, provides the perfect basis for taking beautiful pictures and enjoying photography. Whatever moment you want to capture – 21 motif programmes, incl. night-shot and sport mode, ensure the perfect setting can be found for every situation.
 
Furthermore, the numerous special features of the Rollei XS-10 will enrich your photography experience. For example, the 'smile detection' function automatically detects and focuses on smiling faces, and the 'Rollei face detection' function, which can bring one or more faces into focus in the blink of an eye whilst providing optimal exposure, is ideal for portrait photos. Another useful feature is the 'Coupling-Shot', which combines two photos into one picture. A group photo can thus be extended afterwards to include the missing people. And monumental landscapes or city skylines can be captured easily, thanks to the panorama function. With the 'serial picture' function, the lifestyle digital camera can take up to 3 photos per second, ensuring that sports scenes or other moving objects are captured perfectly.  Another interesting feature is the 'Rollei anti shake function', which helps reduce the number of blurred images, meaning more of your photos turn out well.
 
The Rollei XS-10 is now on sale in shops in silver. The Rollei XS-8 is available in black. Both the Rollei XS-10 and Rollei XS-8 come with a second lithium-ion battery, an external recharging cradle and the software package "PhotoStudio 9" from Zoner.
