Rollei trade show preview: new digital camera models for 2010

Hamburg, 19 July 2010

Rollei will be presenting a number of digital camera highlights at the IFA and Photokina this year: the spotlight will be on the “Compactline” range of products, which are extremely easy to use and offer great extras and interesting features. Rollei has also thought about the smallest hobby photographers, and will therefore be introducing its first-ever children’s camera.

Rollei Compactline 390 SEAs you probably already know, Rollei is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. It is therefore using the occasion to introduce an anniversary edition of its Compactline 390 SE. This 14-megapixel camera is equipped with a 5x optical zoom and comes with an attractive leather case, a replacement battery and a 1 GB SD card. That’s not the only reason to celebrate, however, as the camera also comes with a 26-mm wide-angle lens and new panorama function. Thanks to the PanCapture feature, panorama shots are now even easier to take: the correct position and order of the images are automatically captured and joined together in real-time, and the optical image stabiliser ensures that nothing is blurred. Even those moments that you would rather capture with moving pictures are not a problem. The Compactline 390 SE can record brilliantly sharp videos, thanks to an HD resolution of 1280x720 and 30 images per second..

The compact camera will be introduced for the first time at this year’s IFA and Photokina 2010, and will be available from specialist retailers from the end of October in stylish black or silver. The Compactline 390 SE anniversary edition will cost 149.95 Euros (RRP).

Compactline 312The Compactline 312 is the new basic model in this product range. Behind the aluminium case, which is available in black, silver or pink, you will find a 12-megapixel sensor, a 3x Apogon zoom and digital image stabiliser. The camera, which includes a 2.7-inch TFT LCD display, will be available from specialist retailers from the end of September for 79.95 Euros (RRP). You will, however, be able to see it at the IFA and Photokina trade shows beforehand.

The new Kids100, which has really earned its title as “entry level camera”, has been designed for the smallest hobby photographers who want to discover the world of digital photography. Rollei’s first ever children’s camera offers a huge amount of photo fun for kids of 4 and older. It is extremely robust, can handle falls from small heights without a problem and is child’s play to use. The Kids100 is equipped with a Xenon flash and 64 MB of internal memory, which is enough for approx. 500 pictures. The photos are displayed on a 1.5-inch LCD display. A special effects function can also be used to make amusing changes to the photos afterwards. The children’s camera, which includes a memory and skill game, will be available in bright orange at the end of September from specialist dealers for 59.95 Euros (RRP).
